Notice to visa applicants
With effect from 27 November 2008 the age for a person able to apply for settlement in the United Kingdon either as a spouse, civil partner, unmarried partner, fiance(e) or proposed civil partner or to sponsor a person applying in these categories has been raised to 21
Change to Visa Nationals
With effect from 3 March 2009 the following changes to visa nationals were announced:
- All Jamaican nationals would now require a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV) to transit through a UK airport;
- Al nationals of Bolivia, Lesotho, South Africa, Swaziland and Venezuela will require entry clearance to visit the United Kingdom in any capacity - you should contact the visa section for any interim arrangements in place between 3 March and mid 2009; and
- Taiwanese nationals would no longer require entry clearance to enter the UK under any of the visitor categories.
