FAQs

How will I know when my visa has been authorized by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London?

We will contact you upon receipt of the reply from London. We maintain daily contact with our colleagues in London to ensure that referred visas are authorised in time for estimated dates of departure of visa applicants. To help us ensure you are informed as soon as possible that your application has been authorised, please make sure you leave a current contact number on your visa application form.

How long will my visa be valid for?

The validity dates are printed on your visa. You may enter the UK on any date between the two dates printed on your visa. If you have been issued a green visit or transit visa, you may only remain in the UK for the maximum number of days printed on your visa provided you do not stay beyond the expiry date of your visa.

When can I leave Yemen and enter the UK?

You can leave Yemen and enter the UK within the validity period of your visa.

How many times can I enter the UK?

The vast majority of UK visas permit multiple entries into the UK. If your visit or transit visa has the letters "MULT" after "number of entries", this means you can enter the UK as many times as you wish within the validity of the visa. If your visa has "01" after "number of entries" you may only enter the UK once within the validity of the visa. If you have a long-term visa (student, settlement, etc) you may make multiple entries.

Who decides my visa application?

All decisions are made by Entry Clearance Officers. Entry Clearance Officers are generally members of the Diplomatic Service or officers from the UK Border Agency. If you have a particularly complex application, the Entry Clearance Officer may refer the matter to the UK Border Agency for a decision.
