The British Embassy in Sana'a works to promote British interests in Yemen, to look after British citizens throughout the country and to respond to requests from Yemenis about the UK.

The Department for International Development runs a small office within the Embassy in Sana'a which manages the UK's growing programme of development assistance.

The Department of Work and Pensions also runs an office within the British Embassy in Sana'a verifying pension claims from persons who have worked in the UK and wish to receive their pension in Yemen. 

The British Embassy also runs other small bilateral programmes, including programmes relating to conflict prevention and supporting democracy plus a bilateral programme for small-scale projects.

The British Embassy offers visa services for visitors to the UK and passport and consular services for British citizens resident in Yemen.
